ハロウィンにJOMO JETメンバーとALTのボランティアが仮装をし、渋川市にある児童養護施設を訪問しました。
今回の訪問では、ハロウィン当日だったので、ハロウィンの活動を皆で楽しみました。まずは自分たちの名前を言いながら黒い毛糸をお互いに投げ、巨大な蜘蛛の巣を一緒に作りました。次に、子供たちは紙袋とJOMO JETが事前に作成したカラフルな紙の魔女と魔法使いの帽子にかわいいカボチャやオバケのデザインなどを描き、お菓子入れの袋と簡単な仮装を作り上げました。
その後、4つのゲーム・コーナーを子供たちはグループで一個ずつ回っていき、ゲームを遊びながらお菓子を集めていきました。目隠しをしたままジャック・オ・ランタンに鼻を貼ったり、魔女の帽子で輪投げをしたり、ハロウィンの絵のピースをストローで魔女のお鍋に入れたり、グループで巨大ミミズになって競争したりしました。
最後に、子供達はアップル・ボビングをしました。子供たちは頑張って大きいリンゴを小さい口でガブリ！と水からすくい出すことが出来ました！職員の方も参加し、一つのリンゴをめぐったバトルを熱く繰り広げられました。
施設の子供たちがハロウィンの遊びを楽しむことが出来たことを願い、また近い将来、皆と再会できることを楽しみにしています！
On Halloween, JOMO JET members and an ALT volunteer dressed up in costumes and visited a foster home in Shibukawa.
Since it was the day of Halloween, we enjoyed many Halloween activities together. We tossed a black ball of yarn to each other as we said our names, making a giant spider web together. The children decorated paper bags and the colorful paper witch and wizard hats we had made in advance with cute drawings of Jack-O-Lanterns, ghosts, and the like, so they had a candy bag and simple costume for the day.
The children then moved from one game station to another in groups to play four games and get candy. They pinned the nose on the Jack-O-Lantern, tossed rings onto witch’s hats, moved Halloween paper pieces into a witch’s pot with a straw, and made a human worm chain and raced.
At the end, all students went apple bobbing. The apples were quite big for their little mouths, but everyone was able to fish an apple out of water! Even the staff members participated, battling each other to see who could get the apple first.
We hope the children had a fun time celebrating Halloween with us, and we hope to see them again in the near future!
