Kiryu – JOMO JET – 国際交流 in Gunma!

Let’s play board games from around the world. Come speak in English with local ALTs while we play all kinds of games. It’ll be a lot of funEnglish beginners are welcome too!

Date & Time: Friday, March 13th, 19:00-21:00 (doors open at 18:45)
Location: Kiryu City Performing Arts Center, 2nd Conference Room (4F)
(2-5 Orihime-cho, Kiryu-shi, Gunma)
Cost: Free (prior registration is required)
Registration Deadline: Thursday, March 12th by noon
Participant Capacity: 35
Registration will close when capacity is reached. (A waitlist is available)
(Participants under age 15 must be accompanied by a guardian)

Kiryu Board Game Day 桐生ボードゲームデイ “Let’s play again soon!”

英語を話しながらボードゲームを楽しめました！来てくれた皆さん、ありがとうございました！

We enjoyed talking in English and playing board games! Thank you to everyone who came!

3月に桐生でボードゲームデイを開催しました。参加者29名が来てくれて、JOMO JETのメンバーやボランティアの方と一緒に英会話をしたり、たくさんのゲームを遊んだりしました。とても楽しかったです！

In March, 29 participants joined us in Kiryu for a Board Game Day! We enjoyed English conversations with new and old friends while playing many fun board games.

今回のゲームはアップル・トゥ・アップル、ジャングルスピード、ピクチェリーカ、スシゴー、ナンジャモンジャ、ウノ・スタッコ、ウィー・ウィル・ロック・ユーの全部で７つでした。参加者は好きなゲームを選び、定期的に次のゲームに移動し、時間内に３つのゲームで遊ぶことが出来ました。皆さんは楽しい時間を過ごしました。

The 7 games that we played were Apples to Apples, Jungle Speed, Pictureka, Sushi Go, Toddles-Bobbles, Uno Stacko, and We Will Rock You! Participants played three rounds of games. Everyone had a great time!

これは桐生で2回目のボードゲームイベントでした！

This was our second board game event in Kiryu!

桐生の未来創生塾も来て、皆を桐生で他の楽しいイベントに招待しました。

Thank You! * Kiryu Board Game Night * 桐生ボードゲームナイト

On Friday, November 10th, JOMO JET held another successful board game night at the Kiryu City Performing Arts Center in Kiryu. The event gathered many participants from around the world and of all age groups, and for one night, elementary school, international, and senior participants went head to head over English board games. We even got to see several arm wrestling competitions– complementary of English Jenga!

11/10（金）に桐生市市民文化会館で　JOMO　JET　のボードゲームナイトが開催しました。参加者は小学生から大人、そしてさらに色んな国からの人も一緒に仲良く、楽しく英語のゲームを遊べました。英語ジェンガでも腕相撲の罰ゲームで盛り上がりました。お疲れ様です！

There were 7 games: English Jenga, Incan Gold, Mahe, Pictureka, Ghost Blitz, Toddles Bobbles, and Hedbanz.

Thank you to everyone that came out to this event. I personally had fantastic conversations about travel destinations around the world over snacks and tea and got a little too excited watching participants sing and dance at the Jenga table.

全部で７つのゲームが並んであり、参加者は好きなゲームを三つ選べます。もちろんゲームは英語で遊びます。それにしても楽しく英語を使ってくれた参加者を見てすごく感動しました。小学生の子供達も色んな新しい英語の単語を学んで、最後も”see you~”でお別れしました。私も休み時間に旅行のおすすめ情報をたくさん聞かせてもらいました。これからも英語を日常にたくさん使ってください〜来てくれてありがとうございました！
