On January 20th, JOMO JET co-hosted Kiryu Board Game Night with the Kiryu International Exchange Association at the lovely Kiryu Shimin Bunkakaikan.

１月２０日に、JOMO JETは桐生市国際交流協会とともに桐生ボードゲームナイトを共催しました。素敵な桐生市市民文化会館の中で行いました。

As always, there was great fun to be had. We had a great time playing board games with the locals, and we think they did as well.

今回もすごく楽しいイベントとなりました。JOMO JETメンバーは地元の人とボードゲームを楽しみましたし、彼らも楽しんでいたでしょう。

Unfortunately, there was a sudden snow storm right before the event started! While Kiryu looked beautiful in its coat of snow, many people were unable to attend because of the weather. It’s a shame that they couldn’t join us, but because of the lower number of participants we were able to connect better on a one-on-one level compared to the average board game night.

残念なことに、イベントの直前に急に吹雪になってしまいました！桐生の雪景色は綺麗でしたが、雪で来場できなかった人もいました。ですが、人数が少なかったため今回はいつもよりも一対一といった感じでうまく交流できました。

２月１８日（土）にJOMO JETは前橋市国際交流協会と共催で「英語でクッキング」を開催いたします。JOMO JETメンバーのクリスティン講師の指導でフレンチメニューの調理だけでなく、お味も一緒に楽しんで頂けます。有料イベントとなりますが、ご興味のある方は是非ご参加ください！

■日時：２月１８日（土）９時～１３時
■会場：前橋市第三コミュニティセンター　調理実習室（2階）
（住所：前橋市岩神町三丁目１－１）
■フレンチメニュー：
→メイン：コルドン・ブルー
→副菜：フレンチオニオンスープ
→デザート：フォンダン・オ・ショコラ
■参加費：２０００円（前橋市国際交流協会の会員は金額が異なります。お問い合わせください）
■定員：１２名先着（１５歳未満の方は保護者の同伴が必要となります。）
■持ち物：エプロン、三角巾、布巾・拭く物（２枚以上）（オプション：マスク、持ち帰り用のタッパーウェア）

On Sunday, February 18th, JOMO JET will co-host an English  cooking class with the Maebashi International Association. Under the instruction of our own Kristin Wilson, you will be able to cook and eat a French meal together with JOMO JET members. There is a fee to attend this event, but we hope you will join us!

■Date & Time: Saturday, February 18   9:00-13:00
■Venue: Maebashi 3rd Community Center  Cooking Classroom (2nd floor)
(Address: Iwagami 3-1-1, Maebashi-shi)
■French menu:
→Main dish: Cordon Bleu
→Side dish: French Onion Soup
→Dessert: Chocolate Lava Cake
■Cost: 2000 yen (the price for Maebashi International Association members is different. Please contact Tabitha Fleming if you are a member)
■Capacity limit: 12 participants (participants under age 15 must be accompanied by a guardian)
■Please bring: apron, bandana or cloth (optional: mask, tupperware to take leftovers home)
■Deadline to register: Monday, February 1

来年度の初めてのJOMO　JETイベントは桐生ボードゲームナイトになります！今年は桐生市国際交流協会と共催で開催いたします！
世界で人気がある英語のボードゲームなどで遊びましょう。ALTなどと英語で会話をしながら、駒を動かしたり、カードなどで遊んだりして、楽しい時間を過ごしましょう。英語初心者の方も大歓迎です。群馬のボードゲームナイトで一緒に遊びましょう！

■場所：桐生市市民文化会館　第一会議研修室

■参加費：無料（事前申し込みが必要です）
