JOMO JET is a group of JET Programme participants in Gunma that aims to contribute to the internationalization of Gunma, to foster international exchange, and to promote the JET Programme within Gunma through planning local outreach events. JOMO JET とは群馬県内のJETプログラム（語学指導等を行う外国青年招致事業の略称）参加者　（ALT：外国語指導助手）が、学校や職場での職務以外で、地域との国際交流を行うために、自ら企画した事業を実施している団体です。

2月28日（日）にJOMO JETは前橋市国際交流協会と共催で「英語でクッキング」を実施しました。ご参加していただいた方が多くて、皆様のおかげさまでとても楽しいイベントになりました！
JOMO JETのメンバーと英語で会話しながら、参加者の皆様は美味しいアメリカ料理に挑戦してみました。5人のグループに分けてから、料理が上手なクリスチン先生（JOMO JET）の指示に仰ぎながら、とても美味しいメニューが無事に作れました。

まず、大人気なコッテージ・パイというおかずを作りました。そして、レタス、果物やチーズをたくさん使いまして、ウァルドーフ・サラダというサイド・ディッシューの作り方も勉強になりました。最後に、デザートとして可愛いキーライム・ホィップクリームのミニケーキにしました。

もちろん、料理のお疲れや皆様の食欲を癒す時間もありました！英語での会話を楽しみながら、ゆっくり皆様が作った料理を一緒に食べました。非常に楽しくて美味しいランチタイムでした。

最後にこのような素晴らしい経験を忘れられないように参加者の皆様、前橋市国際交流協会のスタッフとボランティアやJOMO JETのメンバーは素敵な記念写真も撮れました。

ご協力していただいた前橋市国際交流協会の皆様や参加者の皆様、このイベントを一緒に楽しみに来ていただき、ありがとうございました！機会であれば、ぜひまた一緒に世界の料理に挑戦してみましょう。

On Sunday, February 28th, JOMO JET held a collaborative cooking event in English with the Maebashi International Association (MIA). Thanks to the many people who participated this turned into an incredibly fun event!
The participants had the opportunity to challenge themselves with cooking a delicious American meal while enjoying and practicing English conversation with the JOMO JET members. After we formed groups of 5 people, every group prepared a tasteful menù following Kristin (JOMO JET)’s leading instructions.

First, we made a very good sheppard’s pie that turned to be very popular with the participants. Then, we used a lot of lettuce, fruits and cheese to learn to make Waldorf Salad, and we concluded the meal with some cute whipped key lime mini cakes.

Of course, after cooking we also had the time to relieve our fatigue and appetite and eat the delicious meal we prepared all together while continuing our chat in English. It was the best of the lunch times!

At the end of the event MIA staff, JOMO JET members and all the participants also took a picture all together to remember the wonderful experience.

Thanks everyone to join to this cooking event and thanks to MIA for the kind cooperation to make it happen! Let’s try to challenge ourselves with cooking again in the future if there’s any opportunity for it!

Thank You! * Spectrum x JOMO JET: Discussion & Mixer * ディスカッション＆交流会

2月21日（日）にJOMO JETは「Spectrum」（スペクトラム）という国際交流団体と共催で「JOMO JET x Spectrumディスカッション＆交流会」を行いました。初めてのイベントでしたが、おかげさまで多くの方々にご参加していただき、とても有意義なイベントとなりました。

開始してすぐ、参加者の皆さんに、緊張感をほぐしてもらう目的で、参加者全員で「ヒューマンビンゴ」というゲームを行いました。お互いに年齢や趣味など、いろいろな質問をし、初対面でも笑いを交わす参加者が多かったです。そのおかげで、会場が一気に盛り上がりました。

その後JOMO JETのジェイミーさんが基調講演を行いました。日本や群馬県の国際化状態について分かりやすく発表しました。とても興味深く、とてもいい話でした！

基調講演の後、JOMO JETメンバーとボランティアのALT（外国語指導助手）がパネリストになって、パネルディスカッションで日本の良いところと改善すべきところ、そして群馬の国際化を進めるために何が必要か、率直な意見をたくさん述べました。

最後に、「ワールドカフェ」では参加者が少人数のグループで群馬県の「国際化」と自分の役割について考えて話し合いました。群馬の国際化に対して、一人ひとりが何をすることができるか気づいたことを共有したので、これからの群馬県はさらに多様性豊かな地域として輝けるのではないかと思われます。

On Sunday, February 21st, JOMO JET held a collaborative discussion and mixer event with the international organization Spectrum. This was the first event of its kind, but thankfully many people attended and made it a meaningful event.

Right after the opening, we played a game called Human Bingo to help ease everyone’s nerves. Everyone in attendance (planners and participants alike) asked each other questions such as age, hobbies, etc., so even people who didn’t know each other before were able to smile and laugh together. Thanks to this opening activity, the entire venue was buzzing in no time!

After the game, JOMO JET superstar Jaime Ota delivered the keynote speech. She spoke on Japan’s as well as Gunma’s current conditions related to internationalization. Like a true superstar, Jaime made the data very easy to understand, connecting the presentation topic to participants’ everyday lives.

After the keynote speech, JOMO JET members and volunteer ALTs took center stage for a panel discussion. Our seven panelists gave honest opinions on Japan’s strengths and weaknesses, as well as their ideas on what is necessary to further internationalization in Gunma.

In the final World Café segment of the event, participants split into small groups to consider and discuss their individual roles in Gunma Prefecture’s internationalization. Because participants recognized their own parts to play, and then shared these with one another, the distant image of an even more diverse and remarkable Gunma Prefecture solidified into each person’s clear, tangible goal.

3月21日（月・祝日）に前橋市で「Let’s Make Recycled Crafts!～リサイクル工作・雑貨を作ろう！～」を開催します！

地球環境について考える日、アース・デイに備えてALTや国際交流員と一緒にエコな工作・雑貨を作りましょう！家にあるものが、楽しいおもちゃや雑貨に変身します。英語初心者の方も大歓迎です。
•日時：3月21日（月・祝日）14:00 – 16:00

•参加費：無料（事前申し込みが必要です）

We are holding our annual Earth Day event, “Let’s Make Recycled Crafts!” in Maebashi, on the national holiday of Monday, March 21st! Come join us for an afternoon of crafts and conversation.
