On Friday, March 17^th, we had a St. Patrick’s Day themed Numata Board Game Night. Participants who wore green to our event received a few of one of Japan’s most famous green snacks, Matcha Kit Kats.

３月１７日（金）に、沼田市で聖パトリックの祝日のテーマのボードゲームナイトを開催しました。緑色の服を着て来た参加者が日本の有名な緑色の抹茶味のKit Katをもらいました。

This time around, we had 4 games, including a brand new game, Pass the Pigs. Many participants said they enjoyed our new game because it was easy to understand and fun.

今回は４つのゲームがあって、１つはPass the Pigsという新しいゲームでした。何人かの参加者がPass the Pigsのやり方がわかりやすくて、楽しかったと言いていました。

Unfortunately, this event was the last JOMO JET event for our member Caro. She will be moving to Australia in April! We will all miss her very much. Thank you for all you’ve done, Caro!

残念でしたが、このイベントは一人のJOMO JETのメンバー、Caro、の最後のイベントでした。Caroは４月にオーストラリアに引っ越します！これからCaroがいないと寂しいですが、いままで色々ありがとうございました！

On Saturday, February 18th, JOMO JET held our collaborative cooking event in English with the Maebashi International Association (MIA). Thanks to the many people who came to enjoy delicious food and speaking English together!

2月18日（土）にJOMO JETは前橋市国際交流協会と共催で「英語でクッキング」を実施しました。たくさんの方にご参加いただいて、皆様のおかげでとても楽しいイベントになりました！

The participants had the opportunity to challenge themselves with cooking a delicious French meal while practicing English conversation with the JOMO JET members. After we formed groups of 5 people, every group prepared a tasty menu following Kristin (JOMO JET)’s instructions.

JOMO JETのメンバーと英語で会話しながら、参加者の皆様は美味しいフランス料理に挑戦しました。5人のグループに分かれて、料理が上手なクリスティン先生（JOMO JET）の指示に従いながら、とても美味しいメニューを無事に作れました。

First, we made a delicious French Onion soup. Then, we made the traditional French dish, Chicken Cordon Bleu, but we made a special Dijon Cream Sauce to go with it. We also had French bread, which is an important part of any French meal.

まず、おいしフレンチオニオンスープを作りました。そして、伝統的なフランス料理のチキンコルドンブルーはとても勉強になりました。特別なディジョンクリームソースも作りました。また、フランスのパンを食べました。これはフランスの食事に欠かせない部分です。

We were able to enjoy our lunch together in our groups and talk in English with each other. Finally, we finished the meal with some chocolate lava cake. It was a great time!

グループで一緒にランチを楽しんで、お互いに英語で話すことができました。最後に、私たちはフォンダン・オ・ショコラで食事を終えました。素晴らしい時間でした！

Thanks to everyone for joining this cooking event and thanks to MIA for the kind cooperation to make it happen! Let’s try to challenge ourselves with cooking again in the future!

Thank You! * Kiryu Board Game Night * 桐生のボードゲームナイト

On January 20^th, JOMO JET co-hosted Kiryu Board Game Night with the Kiryu International Exchange Association at the lovely Kiryu Shimin Bunkakaikan.

１月２０日に、JOMO JETは桐生市国際交流協会とともに桐生ボードゲームナイトを共催しました。素敵な桐生市市民文化会館の中で行いました。

As always, there was great fun to be had. We had a great time playing board games with the locals, and we think they did as well.

今回もすごく楽しいイベントとなりました。JOMO JETメンバーは地元の人とボードゲームを楽しみましたし、彼らも楽しんでいたでしょう。

Unfortunately, there was a sudden snow storm right before the event started! While Kiryu looked beautiful in its coat of snow, many people were unable to attend because of the weather. It’s a shame that they couldn’t join us, but because of the lower number of participants we were able to connect better on a one-on-one level compared to the average board game night.

残念なことに、イベントの直前に急に吹雪になってしまいました！桐生の雪景色は綺麗でしたが、雪で来場できなかった人もいました。ですが、人数が少なかったため今回はいつもよりも一対一といった感じでうまく交流できました。
