１１月１０日（水）オンライン和英言語交流「第２０回e会話」開催のお知らせ！(English below!)

メキシコにはお盆に少し似たような習慣があると知っていますか？『リメンバー・ミー』を観た方はもうわかっているかもしれませんが、１１月１日～２日に祝われるディア・デ・ロス・ムエルトス（死者の日）では、あの世から戻ってきた家族と友達の魂のために、色鮮やかな祭壇（オフレンダ）を用意し、果物、お菓子、砂糖で作られた骸骨などをお供えします。そして、日本のお盆と異なり、明るく楽しいお祭りです。微笑むスカルのフェイスペイントをしている子供が笑いながら、カラフルな花飾りされた賑やかな街を練り歩く風景が一般的です。

そういえば、今度の水曜日、１１月１０日開催の「第２０回e会話」で、供え物が何もなくても英語の会話を練習できますので、「ムエルト」にならないうちにお越しください！

語学のレベルを問わずどなたでも参加しやすい環境を心がけていますので、興味のある方はぜひご参加ください！

＜注意事項＞

1．参加にあたって未成年の方は保護者の同意が必要です。未成年の方が参加された場合は、保護者の同意が得られているものとみなします。また、高校以下の生徒及び児童は参加不可となります。

3. マイク、カメラを使用できるパソコンで、「Discord」アプリが使える端末が必要です。

4. Discordアプリは事前にインストールをお願いします。すでにインストールしている方は、最新版に更新してください。

e-Kaiwa #20: Of the Shape of Hearts and Humans (11/10)!

Did you know that there is a tradition similar to Obon in Mexico? You might already be aware of this if you’ve seen the movie Coco, but there is a holiday called Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebrated around the first of November where people will prepare altars for the spirit of their deceased friends and relatives and offer fruit, flowers, sweets, and skulls made out of sugar. Unlike Obon in Japan, however, Día de los Muertos is a cheerful and festive celebration where children with smiling skull face paint can be seen laughing and running through busy streets decorated with colorful flowers.

Speaking of, you can practice your Japanese without making any offerings to the dead at the next e-Kaiwa on November 10th!

JOMO JET and GJEE will team up again to host this super simple online language exchange event. Groups of two English speakers and two Japanese speakers talk for 30 minutes in English and for 30 minutes in Japanese. Anyone can join regardless of language level, so we hope to see you there!

1. Applicants under 18 years of age must have the permission of their parent or legal guardian in order to participate. Individuals under 18 years of age who register for this event are understood to have obtained the permission of their parent or legal guardian. Furthermore, students enrolled in elementary, junior high, or high school may not attend.

2. Anyone under the age of 13 cannot use Discord per their Terms of Service.

3. In order to participate in this event, a computer with a microphone and camera and capable of running Discord is required.

5. Please ensure that you have a stable internet connection before participating in this event.

6. Data fees, lighting, electricity, and all other expenses incurred through participation in this event are the sole responsibility of the participant.

7. The applicant understands and agrees to bear full responsibility for any problems or technical issues that may occur when installing Discord, accessing any of the game websites, or any other problem that occurs as a result of participating in this event, and furthermore consents that the event hosts shall bear no responsibility whatsoever for what occurs.
